Nomination Criteria
Criteria for Hall of Fame:
- Accomplishments
- Length of Service
- Honors Received
- Service Must Be in Oklahoma
- Citizenship
- Professional Accomplishments in the Coaching Profession
- Integrity
- Must Exemplify Highest Moral Character, Behavior, and Leadership
Once someone is placed on the ballot, they will always be on the ballot. The nominee will not need to be re-nominated.
Please adhere to the following directions:
- Nomination forms are due in the OCA office on February 1.
- Nominations must be made by a school official, teacher, coach, former coach, or athlete in the state of Oklahoma.
- Nominees should fall into one of the three following categories:
Special Service: Any person outside the coaching profession that has made a direct contribution to athletics in Oklahoma, such as a sports aficionado, sports journalist, etc.
Distinguished Service: Any person in the coaching profession that has made a direct contribution to athletics in Oklahoma but does not have the required number of years service; or, those officials, athletic trainers, players, etc., that have made a direct contribution to the growth and well-being of the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
Coaches Hall of Fame Inductee: Individuals in the High School coaching profession with fifteen (15) years as a head coach, or 25 total years as a head coach, head junior high coach, or assistant high school coach in Oklahoma. - Along with the completed nomination form, the nominee should attach a current color or black & white photo. If selected, this photo will be in the banquet program. No larger than a 4x6, please. Â
- Hall of Fame Selection committee members are prohibited from the nomination process. Â
NO RECOMMENDATION LETTERS, PLEASE.
